As Supervisor of Assessment I work with all assessment results in Regina Public School. Much of my job involves triangulating data.
At this time of year, we look at another survey data point for our division. We would also like to be able to look at the SAYCW data.

How will this data or analysis request assist with your work?

It will be another piece of information that will give us information that will help us to better serve our students.

How does your request support the vision, mission, and values of SAYCW?

We would like to examine the SAYCW data to see how it compares with another student survey that we are required to do.
We would like to look at how many RPS schools participated.

RPS consistently looks at achievement and perceptual data. This is another piece of perceptual data that may be useful in terms of understanding our schools and students and what supports may be needed.

What are the anticipated timelines of your research/project (i.e, start date, end date and dissemination timelines of outcomes)?

Our use of data is ongoing. This would be another piece of data that we would use as another data point.

Support youth and community well-being through the collaborative action of community partners working together. Through evidence, tools and resources, SAYCW supports stakeholders to turn the knowledge gained through the youth health survey into health promoting action.

This report provides a brief review of the scientific literature on COVID-19 and its effects on youth health, with particular emphasis on mental health.  SAYCW shares relevant data from the pre-pandemic, 2019 SAYCW survey – these findings show how stressors and unhealthy behaviours that have been worsened by the pandemic (e.g., worry, connection with others, screen time, etc.) had impacted Saskatchewan youths’ health and well-being prior to the pandemic. Suggested health promotion actions to help mitigate the effects of COVID-19 and improve youth health and well-being are also shared.
